Printmaker Karen J. Revis learned Baughaus three years back at the Black Artists + Designers Guild opening. “I was instantly drawn to the craftsmanship of their styles,” she suggests of the Jamaican business, which makes ceramic vessels, tableware, and even ornaments produced to seem like ackee, breadfruit, and cacao beans. She was especially smitten with this bowl, which is decorated with hand-molded porcelain flowers, some of which are painted with 18-karat gold luster. “I just felt this piece was specific. I wouldn’t even put just about anything in it for the reason that of the intricate facts,” she says. “It’s a standalone.”

The bowls are component of a minimal collection personally produced by Baughaus Structure Studio’s founder, Dana Baugh. Revis claims that whilst she intends to invest in this as a present, she can also envision just keeping it for herself. “Odds are, it’ll conclude up keeping with me,” she claims. “It would appear really fantastic at eye level on my bookshelves, wherever I keep all my particular, tiny treasures.”
